Kelly Shiohira, Director of Impact and Community Engagement, and David Petty, Education Program Manager at the App Inventor Foundation, are leading a 90-minute virtual workshop with CSforCA on March 5, 2026, from 4:00–5:30 PM PST.

The workshop guides California grades 6–12 educators through setting up MIT App Inventor and coding along to create a simple Journal app that saves data to Google Sheets. Participants explore features such as generative AI, sensors, mapping, media, and data science, and learn how to bring authentic app creation and responsible AI into their classrooms.
