App Inventor is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a mission to empower people to become problem-solvers that make a positive impact in their lives and communities. Our goal is to enable anyone—including those who may not think of themselves as coders or programmers—to build technology for real, effective change. We fulfill our mission by building and maintaining the free and open-source App Inventor platform alongside education initiatives and thought leadership.

Global Education Summit
The MIT App Inventor Global Education Summit brings together educators, researchers, developers, and students from around the world to explore the future of computing education. Now in its latest edition, the summit showcases innovative teaching practices, cutting-edge research, and inspiring stories of how App Inventor is transforming classrooms globally.
Global Appathon
The Global Appathon is a free, virtual hackathon hosted by the App Inventor Foundation and MIT App Inventor that encourages people around the world to build mobile apps for a cause. The goal of the competition is to develop an app using MIT App Inventor that aligns with the competition’s theme and demonstrates creativity, social impact, design thinking, and technical skill.
