UNESCO AI and Media Literacy Expert Group

Director of Impact and Community Engagement Kelly Shiohira heads to Helsinki, meeting with UNESCO's AI and Media Literacy Expert Group.

The world has changed dramatically since the publication of UNESCO's Media and Information Literacy Curriculum in 2021. Artificial intelligence now generates and distributes content at unprecedented scale and speed. Algorithms shape what people see and believe. The ethical, social, and environmental dimensions of our information landscape have grown far more complex.

This expert group is convening to discuss and update the curriculum in light of the urgent need to respond.
